IAF Commander Conference: CDS Gen Anil Chauhan tells Air Force commanders to chart clear path towards fleet sustenance

On April 20, 2023, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan, attended the Indian Air Force (IAF) Commanders Conference at Air Headquarters, Vayu Bhawan, in New Delhi.

According to a tweet by the IAF, the conference commenced on April 19, 2023, and the (CAS-Chief of Air Staff) Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, gave the opening address.

Speaking to the IAF Commanders at the conference, the esteemed officer highlighted a need to chart a clear path towards fleet sustenance and simultaneously take steps towards increasing indigenisation.

He also discussed the contours of enhancing integration amongst the three services and the emerging benefits that would accrue from the same.

General Chauhan was also informed about the operational readiness of the IAF in the Commanders Conference.

Officials said commanders would also conduct a comprehensive review of the security situation along the Pakistan and China border and the force’s preparation to deal with any contingency.

The commanders will hold wide-ranging deliberations on the IAF plans for the future with an aim to bolster its combat capabilities.

The theme of this AFCC (Air Force Commanders Conference) 2023 is “Beyond Boundaries: Robust Foundation.” The conference is held annually and involves discussions on the year gone by and progress made on the path planned for the future.

The views of various government organs and academia are sought during the conference, which is also addressed by the Chiefs of Army and Naval Staff.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was set to address the Commanders on April 20, 2023, But he had to skip the event after testing positive for COVID-19.
