Journalists or Propagandists?: Arfa Khanum and Rana Ayyub’s lies affecting India’s image globally

An IPS studying at Harvard said recently, “There are three stages in Harvard: At the selection stage those who write against India they are given priority. Anybody who gets a scholarship has to be ‘Anti-Indian’. Unless you write that you have a wretched life in India you are not going to get the scholarship”

Less than a week ago a woman from Gujarat, Kajal Hindustani was arrested by the Gujarat police alleging ‘Hate Speech’. Kajal’s speech is available in the public domain and nothing looks provoking, except for the fact that she asked Hindus to learn self-defence. This week only the Union Finance Minister of India had to clarify at the world forum about negative Western perspectives about India while talking about the investments.

These two events mentioned above show the state of the majority of Hindus in India and their Image around the world. How come, Hindus are always under target by the global media and those speaking against Hindus are called at events and summits?

Today (April 13), propaganda website journalist, Arfa Khanum shared a Tweet stating she will be speaking at Stanford University about ‘Understanding the downslide of India’s democracy, Declining press freedom and erosion of minority rights’.

In a few minutes from now, I will be delivering a lecture on downside of India’s democracy, declining Press Freedom and erosion of minority rights at the prestigious Stanford University pic.twitter.com/Fv2Jg5oviR

— Arfa Khanum Sherwani (@khanumarfa) April 13, 2023

Arfa, even after being a staunch Anti-Hindu and someone who always engages in Anti-India talks, is allowed to speak and carry on her journalism in India and around the world, claims that there is declining democracy in India. She is talking about minority rights when the government is bringing laws to give new definitions to the lives of Muslim women. Be it the ‘Triple Talaq’ or the equal property law, demands on Uniform Civil Code, are also lined up.

Arfa and her likes are busy propagating how minorities are oppressed in India and the rising intolerance.

Arfa stood by the Anti-CAA-NRC protests and supported the perpetrators raising ‘sar tan se juda’ slogans against unarmed Hindu women, burning their effigy and giving them death threats. She supported the whole campaign around the ‘Hijab’ as the right of Muslim women.

And then at the world forum, she claims that there is declining democracy and that minorities are in abysmal condition.

Notably, she is not the lone ‘warrior’ on this road, there are others too.

Rana Ayyub

Rana Ayyub, columnist at the Washington Post, in an article published on October 17, 2022, titled ‘The World continues to ignore the radicalisation of India’ supporting the ‘Hijab row’ pleaded the world to act against India.

Comparing India’s Hijab struggle with Iran she wrote, “Muslim girls in India are fighting — just like their counterparts in Iran — for their fundamental right to dress and live on their own terms.”

“On the streets of India today, Hindu nationalists have been seen brandishing swords and chanting provocative slogans outside mosques,” she weaved the usual tale of Muslim victimhood.

“And Muslim students and activists have seen their houses demolished by state officials without due process, clearly as retribution for speaking up against atrocities,” she wrote.

Falsely framing India for the Leicester violence she wrote, “A BBC investigation has shown that the disinformation that led to the violence was inflamed by social media accounts from India”.

Barkha Dutt

The claimed journalist, who compromised the details of a military operation during the ‘Kargil War’ and went on air is not behind in the race of ‘Anti-India’ forces.

Dutt had ties with the NDTV, in a video in 2018 used false data to deny the fact that ‘Hindus face discrimination’ in India. In the video, Barkha compares the tradition barring the entry of women between 10 to 50 years of age at Sabarimala Temple with the heinous practice of Triple Talaq.

She mentions this particular line from the Charter to disparage its salient contents, “The resistance to the illegal activities of beef/meat mafia is naturally leading to the law & order problems which are being falsely dubbed as lynching at the behest of the beef/meat mafia which has enormous money and muscle power”.

Notably, due to the shoddy journalism by the people mentioned above Hindus face discrimination abroad. For instance, take the matter of Karan Kataria who was disqualified from contesting elections at the London School of Economics just because he was a ‘Hindu’.

An IPS Officer studying at Harvard University, during the book launch event at Boston, claimed that ‘Those having ‘Anti-India’ and ‘Anti-Hindu’ thoughts in their thesis and their head get priority and acceptance in Harvard’.
He said, “There are three stages at the selection stage those who write against India they are given priority. Half of the people from the private sector, from the NGO sector who have come to Harvard, have written against India in their thesis”.

“Anybody who gets a scholarship has to be ‘Anti-Indian’. Unless you write that you have a wretched life in India you are not going to get the scholarship,” he added.

Contrary to the global portrayal of Hindus and Indians in general by these journalists, the community face threats and violence in their own country. For instance take former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson, Nupur Sharma, Hindutva speaker Kajal Hindustani and even YouTuber turned Journalist Manish Kashyap from Bihar, they all have cases against them and are facing threats to their lives.

Ironically, those passing the threats and raising slogans against them on the streets are Islamists only. Nupur Sharma was forced to step down from the post, and many supporting her Kanhaiya Lal, Kishan Bharwad, Umesh Kolhe etc, have been killed. There are visuals and clips supporting the fact that these murders belonged to the minority community only.

Recently, there have been attacks and acts of vandalism following the Ram Navami Shobha Yatra, in West Bengal, Bihar, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and other parts of the country. The visuals show those creating vandalism and arson are Islamists only.

A minor boy in Bihar Sharif violent got killed, and a Madarsa was set ablaze, locals claimed at an exclusive India Today interview that, they were the Islamists only who initiated the violence and they were the ones who burnt the age-old, Madarsa.

The heart-wrenching visuals from that Madarsa with a teary-eyed man in a skull cap is present everywhere, be it the Washington Post, NewYork Times, Deutsche Welle or others.

These so-called global journalists shared those pictures only, by absolutely ignoring visuals showing men in skull-cap targeting residential spaces in Bengal, or those targeting a temple in Maharashtra or those attacking a minor in Bihar Sharif or those from Jharkhand and other states of the country. For these ethical journalists, the only place where an attack took place was around ‘Bihar Sharif Madarsa’.

There are a number of articles and journals in the Washington Post, Aljazeera, BBC, DW and others showing the vulnerable state of Minorities in India. These publications intentionally target the Hindus and present them as oppressors. Contrary to these reports the Hindus are the ones oppressed.

These Hindus are not allowed to celebrate their festivals on the streets as people like Cheif Minister of Bengal, Mamata Banerjee will say, “There is no chance that the violence at Ram Navami Shobha Yatra was made by Islamists as they were busy with the Ramzan festivities” without a single iota of doubt.

News portals like BBC can release a documentary framing the Prime Minister of the country, calling riots that initiated the killing of hundreds of Kar Sevaks and as ‘Anti-Muslim’. Sites like DW publish agendas against Hindus by calling their music ‘Anti-Muslim; or Hindu Hate and link sensitive matters of ‘Cow Slaughter’ with the livelihood crisis for the minority community saying the ‘Vegetrain Nationalism’ of India is responsible for the joblessness.

The Union Finance Minister had to answer questions about the treatment of Muslims in India, above anything happening in the country at the world forum. No media asks about ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’ slogans or rising attacks on Hindu religious processions.

This month only, External Affairs Minister S Jaisankar slammed the West for their habit of commenting on India’s personal affairs.

Well, how come to these organizations get authorities to speak about Indians, it is journalists like Khaun Arfa and Rana Ayyub, who bring them into our personal battles. As mentioned before, those having ‘Anti-Hindu’ or ‘Anti-India’ beliefs easily are preferred and listened globally. These people use these platforms to enrich the propaganda and present India in a bad light, they will keep doing this for years to come.

Shockingly, under their pressure the government will have to act against those raising their voices supporting the idea of Hinduism and Hindus.

What implications do they have; well, for starters these lies sown by them affect the business, inventors and treatment with Indian’s especially Hindus outside the country.
