Takht Sri Patna Sahib Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, while slamming the Khalistani elements, has condemned the attack and removal of the National flag from the Indian High Commission in the United Kingdom (UK) on March 19.

As per the report of a local dailee, the president of the Gurdwara Parbandhak committee, Jagjot Singh Sodhi, senior member of the committee, Lakhwinder Singh, along with vice-president Gurwinder Singh in a joint statement quoted that the attempts to barged into Indian High Commissions of UK, Australia and United states are unprecedented as even during the peak of terrorism in Punjab such incidents were never been reported.

Those who are inciting the youths of the community for such misdeeds are only doing damage to the prestige of the Sikh community worldwide.

They further asserted that they are astonished that what objectives have been attained by doing such misdeed? We condemn it in the strongest words possible, concluded the members.

Attacks on Indian High Commissions by Khalistani elements

It is to be noted that Indian consulates, along with a few Hindu temples, have been deliberately targeted by the Khalistani extremists in Australia, the UK and the United States lately, these attacks on the Indian High Commissions and Hindu Mandirs are being seen as an attempt to create a divide between the Hindu and the Sikh community on communal lines so that Pakistan backed Khalistani agenda can be given a push.

Attacks on Hindu Temples

The recent attacks started with the vandalisation of the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir by the extremists on January 12 in Melbourne of Australia. The walls of the temple were also defaced with anti-India and anti-Modi slogans.

The next in line was an attack on the historic Shiva Vishnu Temple, the temple premises were vandalised, and the walls of the premises were painted with anti-Hindu and anti-Modi slogans again.

In a similar kind of attack, the extremist elements attacked and vandalised the Hare Krishna Temple on January 23. During the vandalisation, Pakistan-backed separatists also defaced the walls of the temple with pro-Bhindranwale slogans claiming him a martyr.

In another incident, the Swami Lakshmi Narayan temple in Brisbane was also attacked and vandalised by the Khalistani miscreants on March 4, which also saw a similar defacing of the walls with anti-India and anti-Hindu slogans.

Attacks on Indian Embassies

Khalistani supporters with flags of the Khalistan marched towards the Indian High Commission in London on March 19 and raised objectionable slogans there, one of the extremists, in a bid to instil the separatist flag then tried to take down the tricolour, though an official of the commission thwarted his attempt.

Soon after the incident, the Indian Commission reiterated with a larger flag on the embassy building, late in the night, the Indian Government also summoned the British ambassador and lodged a strong protest about the incident. Two days later, the Government also downscaled security arrangements for the British High Commission in India, forcing the British Government to beef up the security of the Indian consulate in UK, subsequently a criminal case under UAPA was also lodged against the accused in Delhi.

In a similar incident, the Khalistani extremists attacked and vandalised the Indian embassy in San Francisco on March 19. In the video pertaining to the attack, hundreds of Khalistani supporters brandishing Khalistani flags can be seen raising pro-Khalistani slogans before the consulates, the extremists also vandalised and forcibly installed two Khalistani flags in the premises.

Recently on March 25, a group of Khalistani extremists gathered before the Indian embassy in Washington DC and hurled abuses to the Indian ambassador to the United States, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, an Indian reporter covering the protest where many of the extremists can be heard inciting the protestors to unleash violence was also manhandled and abused.

It is to be noted that recently the Indian Government has launched a massive manhunt to nab the Pakistan backed fugitive Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh who was raising a private army of fidayeen attackers (Anandpur Khalsa Front) to unleash a reign of terror in Punjab.
