On March 12, the Gurugram Police registered a case against three people for the alleged gang-rape of a 14-year-old minor girl in December 2022. The minor girl’s father filed the complaint against the accused persons after he learned about the incident through a viral video the accused persons made while raping the minor girl, OpIndia reported.

It is pertinent to note that two of the three accused persons are also minors. Reportedly, the two minor accused are class 11 and 12 students; the third accused is a school dropout. The minor girl is a class 8 student.

The minor girl’s father stated that the accused persons abducted the minor girl during a sports event on December 18, 2022, and took her to a hilly area wherein they gang-raped her. The accused persons also made a video of her and threatened to upload it on the internet if the minor girl told anyone about the incident.

However, the accused uploaded the video on social media, which reached the minor girl’s father. The minor girl’s father talked to the minor girl afterwards, wherein she told him about the incident; therefore, he filed a complaint.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) South Upasana Singh said, “Police are conducting raids to arrest the accused, and a medical examination of the girl has been done. The accused have been identified and will be arrested soon.”

The minor girl’s father’s complaint has been registered at the Sohna Sadar Police Station u/s 363 [Punishment for Kidnapping], 376-DA [Punishment for gang rape on woman under sixteen years of age] of the Indian Penal Code and u/s 16/6 of the POCSO Act.

In an interview with OpIndia, Inspector Jai Singh, Sohna Sadar Police Station, said, “An FIR was registered immediately based on the complaint of the father. We raided a few locations last night but the culprits are yet to be arrested. The investigation is underway, and the accused will be arrested soon.”

On March 10, UttarPradesh.org News reported an incident about a minor girl allegedly receiving death threats to convert and get married to Mohammad Saqlain came to light. The victim was a minor and a class 9 student. She has alleged that Saqlain is pressuring her for conversion and marriage with him. Furthermore, she has alleged that Saqlain threatens to kill her if she refuses to marry him.

Reportedly, the victim’s mother wrote to Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister (CM) Yogi Adityanath, alleging that Saqlain was stalking, molesting, and threatening her minor daughter for marriage. The victim’s mother also claimed that she complained about Saqlain’s actions to his family; however, instead of stopping Saqlain’s activities, his family members confronted the victim’s mother and asked what the problem was with the victim marrying Saqlain. Furthermore, the victim alleged that Saqlain threatened to throw acid at her and kill her if she did not marry him after he found when he found out about the complaint.

Earlier, an incident surfaced where Mohammad Abdul Mistri allegedly raped a girl for two and a half years, impregnated the victim, shot the video, and shared it with the victim’s fiancé, which broke down the victim’s marriage. In addition, the accused, Mohammad Abdul Mistri, allegedly used the video to threaten the victim, claiming that he would release the video if she did not keep quiet about it. Therefore, the victim continued to tolerate the repeated rapes.

However, the victim did not file a complaint against him then. Then, the accused shared the video right before the victim’s wedding, leading to its cancellation. Now, the victim has filed a complaint against the accused, and the police are taking action. Meanwhile, the victim’s health deteriorated, and she was taken to the hospital, where they found the victim pregnant. It is pertinent to note that the accused, Mohammad Abdul Mistri, is about the same age as the victim’s father.
