The Nizampura Police has registered an FIR against a 32-year-old madrasa teacher Fahad Bhagat Noorie in Bhiwandi in Thane, Maharashtra for allegedly beating up a 14-year old student for not studying properly.

The madrasa teacher assaulted the minor student at least 70 times in a span of 70 seconds with a stick and hands.

The cowardly incident took place on November 24 last year but an FIR was registered by the trustee of ‘Dini Madrasa’ after CCTV footage of assault by teacher has gone viral on social media in which a teacher is seen assaulting a minor student badly.

It can be seen in the video that during the assault, the student begs the teacher to leave him but he continues to assault him.

The CCTV footage also shows two teachers sitting in the same room and asking the teacher to leave the student but he continues assaulting the minor student. Police has said that they have started searching for Noor who is now on the run.

Noor Ali Sayyed, trustee of Dini Madrasa said that, “The incident took place last year on November 24 and when we come to know about incident through the parents next day, we immediately sacked Noorie and two other teachers from job who did not stopped him as they should had stopped him.”

“During the time we asked the parents if they wanted to lodge an FIR, but they were satisfied with our action. But since someone had made the video viral, we took cognisance of the same and approached police and lodged an FIR”. Sayyed further said.

Fahad Bhagat Noorie had been teaching at the madrasa for the last 12 years.

RK Dalvi, police sub-inspector of Nizampura police station, said, “An FIR has been registered against the teacher and we are searching for him.”

Assaults on minor studying in madrasa is not new, earlier on February 26, 2022, J&K Police arrested Madrasa Maulvi Bilal and accomplice Riaz Ahmed for bluffing, kidnapping, and keeping a 16-year-old girl hostage for the last 5 months. The minor girl was pursuing Arabic studies in the Madrasa located in the Chak Dayala area, situated in J&K’s Samba district.

The two accused have been identified as Madrasa Moulvi Bilal Ahmed s/o Abdul Qayoom r/o Bathari village in J&K’s Doda district and his accomplice, Riaz Ahmed s/o Din Mohammed r/o Bathari village in J&K’s Doda district.

Accused Bilal hails from Gandoh of the Doda district and he also runs a madrasa in Doda.

Five months ago he joined the madrasa in Samba. He was arrested after a complaint was lodged by the father of the minor girl. In his complaint, the victim’s father said that maulvi Bilal lured his daughter and kept her with him for five months.
