Babusinghji Maharaj, the venerated saint of Banjara community spread in four states of the country and Chief Priest at Poharagad, asserted on January 25 that the conversion racket is active in 3000 Tandas (Banjara colonies) and a large number of the community members has been converted to Christianity. However, he and other saints resolved to bring all of them back to Hindu community.

Venerable Babusinghji Maharaj was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Banjara Samaj Kumbh of the Akhil Bharatiya Gor Banjara and Labana Nayakada community at Godri in Jamner taluka of Jalgaon District in Maharashtra. The first of its kind gathering will be run till January 30. Akhil Bharatiya Dharma Jagaran Pramukh Sharadrao Dhole, venerable Mahamandaleshwar Guru Sharananand Maharaj, venerable Saint Gopal Chaitanya Maharaj, Sain Suresh Maharaj, Saint Denabhagat ji Maharaj, Saint Yashwant Maharaj, Saint Jitendranath Maharaj, Acharya Sahebrao Shastri, Mahant Sangramsingh Maharaj and Saint Raysingh Maharaj among others were present on the dais. The ceremony started by offering garlands to the images of Shri Balaji Bhagwan, Guru Nanak Devji Saheb, Bharat Mata and Sant Sevalal Maharaj and lighting the lamp.

In his keynote address, Babusingh Maharaj said that Banjara community members on 3 thousand tandas out of the 11 thousand tandas in eight states have been converted to Christianity by the missionaries through direct contact. He also asserted that all those converted will be brought back. He said that the Kumbh has been organised to bring awareness in the Hindu Gor Banjara and Labana Nayakada community and give a direction to the community.

He said that saints from Mathura have come for the Kumbh of Banjara community. The community members and saints from Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat states have participated in the Kumbh. The Gor Banjara and Labana Nayakada community has a long tradition of many great saints. The society gets the direction from devotion and the saints have gathered here to give direction to the society. He said that the first Kumbh of the Banjara community is taking place at Godri and this is a historic and unforgettable moment.

Akhil Bharatiya Dharma Jagaran Pramukh Sharadrao Dhole said the foreign invaders came here after seeing the wealth of the country. The Greeks invaded us but later they became Hindu. However, Islamic invasion was different because it was brutal. They converted millions of people through the terror of sword. The missionaries started the conversion through treachery, malice and service. This conversion was not confined to the way of worship but resulted in the demand for separate state and separate country. In North-East, 4 out of 7 states have been Christianised. Now, conversion has taken place in 3 thousand tandas out of 11 thousand. He said that hundreds of saints have arrived here to stop the conversion of Banjara community and reverse it.

Sant Gopal Chaitany Maharaj said that all great personalities have been invited in the Kumbh. The saints work to protect the Dharma. The Kumbh has been necessiated because of conversion in 3 thousand tandas. This Kumbh is for bringing awareness among Hindus and protect the Dharma.

Sant Suresh Maharaj said that we call our country Bharat Mata. We are sanatani and we will remain sanatani. A soldier stands at the border of the country to protect Bharat Mata while saints stand in society for the dharma.
Mahamandaleshwar Guru Sharananand Maharaj said that Banjara community is spread afar. This was a trader community. It is spread all over the country and is religious in nature. Sant Hathiram Baba would play dice with Tirupati Balaji hence Balaji Bhagwan and Hathiram Baba are our centres of faith.

All the saints on dais were welcomed by the Banjara women in traditional attire, singing the songs in Gormati language. Shahir Suresh Jadhav performed a powada ‘Veer Lakhishaha Banjara’ with his troupe. There was also a Gondhal (traditional Maharashtrian devotional song) of Goddess.
