On January 13, 2023, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Union Government has transferred the case of terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir’s Rajouri in the first week of January to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Union Home Minister Shah who is on a day to visit Jammu & Kashmir talked to victims of families, who were killed in the Rajouri terror attack.

Home Minister also held talks with officials in Jammu over security-related concerns in Union Territory. Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir Manoj Sinha took part in the meeting.

While addressing the media after a high-level meeting in Jammu, Amit Shah said, “I have spoken to all the seven families of the deceased over the phone. I was about to go there myself to meet them but today we could not go there due to the weather. I have listened to their words very carefully and I have also spoken to Lieutenant Governor Manoj ji. The courage of those who lost their lives is an example for the country”.

Chaired a security review meeting in Jammu with the officials of all the forces and agencies.

Amit Shah also made an assurance that all the incidents that took place in the last one and a half years will be investigated.

“The Government has given the investigation of both incidents which took place over the course of 2 days to NIA. Jammu Police and NIA will together investigate the matter,” the Home Minister said.

“A detailed discussion has been held with all the aspects of the security agencies and all kinds of agencies involved in the security of Jammu & Kashmir. Preparations will be made to make a very secure grid in the coming days; be it BSF, CRPF, Army or Jammu and Kashmir Police, all are ready,” he added.

The formation of the 360 security cycle was also discussed during the meeting.

Saroj Bala, mother of one of the victims killed, said that the Home Minister spoke to her over the phone and assured her to visit them on his next visit.

“I lost my both the sons during Dhangri attack. I urged Home Minister to give us justice and a tight answer to the killers of her sons,” she said.

It is also noted that seven Hindus including two children were killed in the two terror attacks in Upper Dangri village of Jammu & Kashmir’s Rajouri District on January 1 and 2.

Earlier on January 9, Amit Shah held a crucial meeting with leaders of the Jammu & Kashmir unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at his residence in Delhi. The meeting was in the wake of the recent terrorist attacks in Jammu & Kashmir.
