Mohammad Aamir, a teacher in Bihar’s Begusarai district allegedly groomed and kidnapped a minor Hindu girl. Aamir operates a coaching center where the 14-year-old girl used to study for the last 4 years, i.e. since the age of 10.

According to FIR registered by the girl’s parents at Phulwaria police station, a few days back the family discovered that Aamir had given her a mobile phone. The girl was looking frightened for several days, and they now doubt that he might have been blackmailing her. The girl’s parents immediately stopped her coaching and arranged her tuition at another place.

On November 21, 2022, the girl left home saying she is going to study but never returned since then. It was noticed that Aamir’s coaching center is also closed since then. The family believes Aamir of fleeing the girl away. When they went to Aamir’s house to enquire, they were maltreated and chased away.

The girl’s mother said, “When I reached Aamir’s house to complain about it, Amir’s father misbehaved with me and chased me away by abusing.”

“I went to the house of Mohammad Aamir but his father misbehaved with me. He also levelled the allegation that my minor daughter took his son who is more than 20 years old, apart from Rs 1 lakh from the house,” she said.

The distressed mother fears that her daughter could suffer a fate like Shraddha Walkar. “A large number of Hindu-Muslim cases are appearing before us. The life of my daughter is in danger. She might be killed like Shraddha was killed in Delhi,” she added.

SHO of Phulwaria police station, Navin Kumar said, “We have registered an FIR against Mohammad Aamir and an investigation is underway. His mobile phone is under surveillance. The accused will be arrested soon.”

The FIR has been reported against the accused Mohammad Aamir under IPC 366A (procuration of minor girl). The police claim they are ‘conducting raids’ to rescue the minor student, but the girl’s parents say the police response has been inadequate, which is a common complaint against Bihar police in such cases.
