Guwahati (Assam): Sensational kidnap and murder of a boy from Bihar left Guwahati city shell-shocked. Jayvardhan Kumar from the Motihari district of Bihar was abducted from the Dibrugarh-Delhi rail by Johor Ali and Ayub Khan on November 9. Jayvardhan was travelling to Bihar from Dimapur in Nagaland. The deceased boy was working in a company in Dimapur and was travelling to his home in Motihari.

Johor Ali and Ayub Khan abducted Jayvardhan from the train before reaching Guwahati railway station. But whether the kidnappers were known to Jayvardhan or not is yet to be investigated. The kidnappers Johor and Ayub snatched all the valuables and cash with Jayvardhan.

Moreover, the assailants withdrew more than a lakh rupees from the account of the deceased boy through his ATM card. After their purpose of snatching money and valuables was done, both Johor and Ayub brutally killed Jayvardhan and threw his body in the river Brahmaputra.

A missing case was filed by the family of Jayvardhan at the railway police station in Guwahati. GRP promptly took action, and on their investigation, it was found that Johor and Ayub kidnapped Jayvardhan. Both the murderers were hiding in a remote riverine area of Kamrup district. On 12th November, a railway police team arrested killers Johor Ali and Ayub Khan from Salmara Char of the Sualkuchi area.

GRP sources said that on police interrogation, both Johor and Ayub confessed to abducting and killing Jayvardhan. They also admitted that they threw the body in the Brahmaputra. The body of the deceased Jayvardhan is yet to be recovered. Police recovered Jayvardhan’s mobile phone, ATM cards, and some other belongings from the possessions of the killers. Both the killers, Johor and Ayub, are in police custody. GRP is still investigating the case to determine the actual reason for the murder.
