New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Waste to Energy Plant in South Delhi. While addressing the programme, Amit Shah informed that this plant would handle about 2000 metric tonnes of waste per day, with which 25 MW of green energy will be produced. It is a multifunctional, multi-purpose plant. He said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is trying to mislead the people of Delhi through propaganda. Kejriwal feels that press interviews will bring development, and people can be misled by publishing advertisements. This is a misconception of Kejriwal. The people of Delhi will no longer fall under the guise of publicity, he added.
He said that the Aam Aadmi Party wanted to make people dependent on AAP, while the Modi Government was making people self-reliant. Shri Amit Shah said, after inaugurating the Waste to Energy Plant, that some people say that it is being inaugurated because of elections, which is not a good thing. We are not doing Bhoomi Pujan of this plant. The plant is ready. He further said that the Modi Government is working to make Delhi garbage free.
“BJP is going to be re-elected in the MCD election.  He said that he is confident that they will set up daily waste processing facilities in Delhi by 2025 with the help of MCD. Such heaps and mountains of garbage will not be seen in future. He further said that the people of Delhi have to decide whether they like the politics of advertising or the politics of ‘development’. People should also decide whether they like the politics of ‘propaganda’ or the politics of ‘change’,” Shri Amit Shah said.
Amit Shah further said that another plant is also going to start in Narela, Delhi, through which 3000 metric tonnes of waste will be disposed of. He further said that the goal of the Modi Government is to develop cities under a better strategy.
Home Minister Amit Shah said that before independence, Mahatma Gandhi had given the message of cleanliness. For 70 years, this message was forgotten. When Modi Ji became the PM in 2014, he again brought this message to the ground. The Home Minister said that after the integration of MCD, such an ecosystem will be created, so that Delhi becomes the best capital of the world. He said that now about 7000 metric tonnes of garbage will be disposed of every day in Delhi and 2000 metric tonnes of garbage will be reused. This plant will generate 25 MW of electricity per day.
Amit Shah said that the Delhi Government had stopped the MCD fund of 40,000 crores. Due to which MCD was facing difficulties in carrying out development works in Delhi. The MCD employees of Delhi were not getting their salaries on time. Its integration has been done to strengthen the MCD. We will go door to door to the people of Delhi and tell the truth about Kejriwal. The people of Delhi are going to reject the Aam Aadmi Party in the MCD elections.
On this occasion, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, VK Saxena said that Delhi has got a big gift from this plant. This plant is a big step for the development of Delhi. He said that his goal is to eliminate all the garbage mountains in Delhi in 18 months. For this, several important steps have been taken. The Ghazipur plant which was closed was restarted.
Apart from this, VK Saxena further said that public support is necessary for development works. Apart from this, he said that NHI needs 20 lakh tonnes of solid waste to build roads in the country. Apart from this, he told that in June-September 2022, 26 lakh metric tonnes of waste was disposed of in Delhi.
On this occasion, South Delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri said that the Aam Aadmi Party Government of Delhi discriminates against the MCD and does not give funds. Due to apathy of Kejriwal, development works are not being done in Delhi. He said that this plant would generate 25 MW of electricity every day. He further said that Amit Shah ji took time out for this small task, it is a big thing for us. With the start of this plant, the mountain of garbage that is here will gradually end. Zero carbon will be released from this plant, some people believe that poisonous smoke will come out from this plant. it’s not going to happen. People are going to get a lot of help through this plant. On this occasion, Ramesh Bidhuri also gave details of many important development works done in his Lok Sabha. He said that 365 crores have been incurred to start this plant. Delhi BJP President Adesh Gupta, Leader of Opposition of Delhi Assembly Ramveer Bidhuri and many senior officials of MCD were also present.
