Jihadis of outlawed Popular Front of India (PFI) are camouflaged in white collar jobs to promote their anti-national activities with a set target of “Mission 2047”. Some worked as college lecturers, others as government employees. Senior leaders arrested during the last few days are either government employees or staff of sky high private firms. O.M.A. Salam, E.M. Abdul Rahiman, V.P. Nazarudheen and P. Koya are some among them. Reports suggest, the arrested Jihadis appeared to be leading normal life while moving in the set direction to make Bharat an Islamic Republic by 2047. They called on the Muslims to wield arms against Hindus in the country. These “peace-loving elite”  were holding good jobs and drawing fat salaries. They controlled the fanatic anti-national outfit.

PFI Chairman OMA Salam was employed in Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB), a state government enterprise and was suspended in December, 2020. E.M. Abdul Rehiman retired as a librarian in Cochin University of Science & Technology. V.P. Nazeerudheen was a clerk in Madhyaman Malayalam daily, the mouthpiece of Jamaat-et-Islaami. P. Koya was a government college lecturer in Kozhikode. Koya had worked in Qatar also.  Abdul Wahit Sait and Anis Ahmed, two PFI activists arrested in Karnataka are software men.

OMA Salam was suspended from KSEB in December 2020 after the brass came to know that he was the chairman of the outfit and he held the position sans the permission of the Board. He was also associated with Rehab India Foundation, one of the outshoots of PFI and banned along with the umbrella body. The KSEB letter notifying Salam’s suspension reads that during the enquiry it was disclosed that he was also holding the office of the chairman of a banned outfit under the scanner of various investigative agencies for its alleged activities and suspicious fund transactions. It continues “It has also been substantiated that the accused has made several foreign trips without proper sanction”.

If reports are to be believed, M.A.  Salaam is still in the payroll of KSEB. There is enough technical support for his advantage. According to the rule, a suspended man can enjoy subsistence income for the first 6 months, By that time enquiry can be completed.  If the enquiry is not completed within six months, the employee is entitled to have two third of his salary. In Salam’s case it is Rs 67,600. I another words, he has drawn Rs 7.84 lakhs so far since his suspension. It shall not be stopped unless and until he is dismissed from the service. Now, the one million dollar question remains: “What happened to the enquiry after suspension of Salam “?  There comes the relevance of the BJP’s allegation that CPM and LDF are having more nexus with PFI  than the understanding in ruling Local Self Government Institutions. Salam’s suspension and enquiry are prolonging indefinitely. Otherwise, how come Salam gets the rosy opportunity to draw fat salary, even though two third, without doing any job, but only anti-national activities of his outfit ? A Malayalam online channel quoted his IT Return to substantiate the salaries he drew until August, 2022.

The same channel says, a top KSEB official told them that they underwent heavy pressure from the higher-ups of both ruling LDF and Opposition UDF, led by CPM and Congress respectively, to take him back to the service. At last, they took a stand that they shall take him back provided they get a clearance letter from the State Police Chief. But, so far Police Chief’s clearance has not been issued. But, at the end of the day, Salam is not the loser as he gets two third salary sans doing any job. On the other hand, the tax payer is the heavy loser, his hard earned money is indirectly spent for anti-national activities.

Abdul Rehiman had reportedly joined SIMI in 1970s and later took over as its national president. He is considered to be the brain behind the formation of NDF and PFI fronts like Campus Front of India and also Confederation of Human rights Organisation. He is a director of the Students Islamic Trust in New Delhi and also a member of All India Milli Council.  E. Abubacker who is one among the arrested was the editor of India Next Hindi magazine and Thejus Malayalam daily. P. Koya, formerly SIMI worker and now a national general secretary of PFI organisation NCHRO. Nazeerudheen had worked for Madhyamam 11qqqq11daily and also as a teacher at MES College, Aluva, Ernakualm district and Calicut Orphanage. He contested 2014 Lok Sabha election from Malappuram. Minarul Seikh, arrested PFI Bengal state president got his PhD in History from AMU and ran a coaching centre.

Investigation agencies have recovered numerous incriminating materials from the centres of the outlawed outfit. Brochure and CD related to “Mission 2047” were most significant among them. Huge amounts of unaccounted money have been seized from the leaders. There was also document of short course teaching how to make LEDs using most available materials.

These episodes talk on top of their voice that anti-national elements are always at the advantageous position, thanks to the dirty vote bank politics prevailing here.
