From the time the unholy MVA alliance comprising of Shiv Sena (Uddhav), NCP and Congress have come together against the mandate, the three parties on several occasions have been shown by the public that they have rejected them. And situation has only worsened for them since the time the shaky alliance collapsed and the new Devendra Fadnavis-Eknath Shinde government has formed in Maharashtra.
The MVA collapse triggered a dominos effect, numerous leaders of Shiv Sena following the ideology of Balasaheb Thackeray left the alliance and allied with the BJP.
On Monday the results of Gram Panchayat polls have once again shown that the public sentiments are with the Devendra Fadnavis-Eknath Shinde led government.
While panchayat elections aren’t fought on party symbols, but the BJP has claimed that 274 gram panchayat heads elected are aligned to the saffron party.
A post by the BJP on social media website Twitter claimed that of the remaining Eknath Shinde led Shiv Sena has won 41 on its own, the NCP is a distant second after BJP in this competition with 62 seats and the Congress is at fourth position with 37 seats.
According to the post, the biggest loser in this polls is Uddhav Thackeray’s group which has got a mere 12 seats.
Around 604 gram panchayat seats went to poll in the state. Gram Panchayat elections are a proof on who has gained strength in the grassroots. The villages of Maharashtra are inclined towards BJP and it is visible from the results.
The BJP before this has managed to get three of its MPs and five of its MLCs elected in the Maharashtra state. Post which they even managed to topple the Uddhav Thackeray led MVA government after Uddhav’s own people abandoned him as they believed that Uddhav wasn’t following the ideology of Balasaheb Thackeray the founder of Shiv Sena.
Since, the BJP-Shiv Sena government came in power, restrictions on Hindu festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi and Govinda were lifted. Most places named after invaders have been renamed for example Aurangabad has been renamed to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. Now there’s another proposal rename Daulatabad Fort to Devagiri, its original name.
