Maharashtra: BJP president Ashish Shelar silences Aaditya Thackeray over Foxconn semi conductor plant deal

Aaditya Thackeray son of Uddhav Thackeray and the former minister in Maha Vikas Aghadi, knowingly or unknowingly started a political fight in Maharashtra. In no time, Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar jumped in the ring and defeated his opponent.

The BMC elections are nearing and the fight for the Asia’s richest Municipal Corporation is going to be very interesting. On Tuesday Aaditya Thackeray, quoting a tweet of Vedanta’s Anil Agarwal of Vedanta-Foxconn setting up a semi conductor plant in Gujarat, blamed the Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis government.

Aaditya even used a derogatory term Khoke Sarkar (khoke is crores in slang language) for the Eknath Shinde led government and claimed that MVA had finalised everything with Vedanta for setting up a plant in Maharashtra yet this government let it go to Gujarat.

The political scene turned volatile in Maharashtra. Almost all opposition parties jumped in and started attacking the Shinde government for this move.

But the entire facade fell flat when, a private news channel quoting Agarwal said that, a hub for manufacturing of iPhones and TV equipment will be in Maharashtra and this project here will be kind of forward integration for the Gujarat project.

This blew the steam of the entire narrative that Maharashtra was losing industrial projects to Gujarat. Instead both Gujarat and Maharashtra were now seen as prospering.

Meanwhile, Shelar had started firing salvos at Aaditya Thackeray by listing all the failures and actions that caused Maharashtra dear during the MVA government.

Shelar listed all the points and asked for a reply from Aaditya.

Shelar countered Aaditya on three important points. He said, “While criticising our 2-month-old SS/BJP Govt on Law & order or FDI investment!”

He listed three important points and asked him the following questions.

1. Will Aaditya Share:
Why Maha fell to 3rd FDI rank during MVA rule?
Why MVA cancelled Foxconn deal signed in 2015 by BJP Govt?
Why Mumbai Metro work STOPPED – leading to 10,000crores cost increase?

2. On Law &Order
Will Aaditya Explain
₹100 crores Vaze Vasooli Terror mafia operated by HIS MVA Govt?
Why HE or MVA CM NEVER Spoke/Apologised for Mansukh Hiren Murder?
Why were Citizens abused, beaten & arrested? For Whose EGO?
Who managed Police transfer racket in MVA Govt?

3. Will Aaditya Explain
Why his party DID NOT nurture ONE Marathi UNICORN startup in 25 yrs?

There are many more questions that Shelar asked, and even named individuals. This has surely ruffled a few feathers in the opposition camp.

However, one thing is clear patience is the best trait a politician should get used to, and in this case those who remained patient have won.
