Govt of Goa signs MoU with Nation First Policy Research Centre to track status of projects

The directorate of Planning and Statistics Government of Goa signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Nation First Policy Research Centre on developing the Performance Management Unit, to track the department-wise programs and proposed projects

Panaji: The directorate of Planning and Statistics Government of Goa signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Nation First Policy Research Centre on developing the Performance Management Unit, to track the department-wise programs and proposed projects. It shall monitor and resolve Inter-Departmental Issues, Monitor and analyze program performance to the full implementation. Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and the Goa Council of Ministers were present.

Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant stated that the MoU shall benefit the Govt. of Goa in various ways. The Nation First Policy Research Centre works with the Govt. of India and has been working with various state governments. Their experience, research and skills shall help and contribute to the implementation of projects, programs and schemes of the Govt. of Goa. It will also help in identifying, and better implementation of programmes, and schemes initiated by Govt. of India in the state of Goa.

Chief Secretary, Govt. of Goa Shri Puneet Kumar Goel briefed about the very first Chief Secretary’s Conference chaired by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in Himachal Pradesh. Prime Minister had stated that all the programs and schemes shall be implemented in all the states.

Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant briefed about the deliberations that took place during the recently conducted Chief Minister’s Conference under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chief Minister briefed about the 27 Issues identified at the conference related to inter-departmental issues, and the development of the state of Goa. Chief Minister stated that the Prime Minister appreciated the Swayampurna Goa initiative of Govt. Of Goa and asked other states to take up the idea to implement in their respective states. The issues that were deliberated upon included discussion on Goa’s contribution towards making India a 5 Trillion Dollar economy, preventing leakages in GST, implementation of NEP 2020, the study of Haryana’s pehchan Patra, improving on ease of doing business and ease of living in the State etc. Directions were given to all secretaries for the Implementation of the Centrally Sponsored scheme to achieve 100% target beneficiaries.

Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant stated that the first phase of Mission Karmayogi has been initiated and implemented in Goa. The ‘gipard’ has conducted various training programs for government employees. Chief Minister stated that a Chintan Shibir has been scheduled in September, where Ministers, and Secretaries shall discuss, and mitigate issues to put way forward for Antyodaya.
