“DMK Govt formed by Christians and for Christians; TN & Kerala developed only because of Xians”, says Assembly Speaker

“If not for the reverend ‘fathers’, ‘sisters’, and ‘brothers’, Tamil Nadu would’ve remained like Bihar. If Tamil Nadu and Kerala stand high in the country today, the credit should go to Christians especially Catholic Christians priests," said

In Tamil Nadu, it has become a passion or addiction for DMK ministers and its allies to praise the Abrahamic religions at the cost of the majority Hindus. The latest act of appeasement was from the TN Assembly Speaker M Appavu, who is expected to be apolitical and above religion and castes.

In a video that has been in circulation, Speaker and DMK MLA Appavu parroted what CM M K Stalin said in a Christmas Eve function last year. While addressing a gathering of Catholic Christians on the occasion of St. Paul’s Seminary held in Trichy on June 29, 2022,  Appavu was heard saying in the video “DMK Government formed By you and for you; Tamil Nadu is developed only because of Catholic Christians”. He also said that the MK Stalin-led government in the state was formed by Christians and for Christians.

Appavu openly confessed that the DMK came to power because of the ‘fasting’ and support of Roman Catholic Christians and that Chief Minister MK Stalin acknowledges that the DMK government was installed with the help of Christians.  He said “I frequently tell this. This is ‘your’ government. A government that has been formed by ‘you’. A government that has been formed because of your ‘fasting’. A government that has been brought by your prayers and wishes to the Lord. This is a government for ‘you’.” He further added that Christianity and Christian priests were the root causes for the formation of the DMK government which talks about ‘social justice’ and ‘Dravidian Model’.

Appavu told the Christian pastors and other Christians assembled, “I have already told this to the pastors many times. You don’t have to expect anyone. You can decide among yourselves and figure out the problems that you face and bring it to the attention of our Chief Minister. He won’t reject it all because he knows very well that this government was formed by you. So, this is ‘your’ government. He is ‘your’ Chief Minister. You can boldly place any request before him. Make the necessary arrangement for that without any delay. To support you, I am there, brother Inigo (another DMK MLA) is there, our wonderful brother Peter Alphonse (Congress leader and Chairman of State Minorities Commission), is there. We will stand by you, listen to your pleas, and take it to the attention of the Hon’ble Chief Minister for taking necessary action.”

The Speaker said, “The entire development of Tamil Nadu has been because of Christian missionaries. They started colleges and schools. If Tamil Nadu stands tall today as the best state in India and in the domain of education, social justice and Dravidian, it is because of your hard work. You are the foundation stone. Tamil Nadu was built on the foundations laid by you”.

“If not for the reverend ‘fathers’, ‘sisters’, and ‘brothers’, Tamil Nadu would’ve remained like Bihar. If Tamil Nadu and Kerala stand high in the country today, the credit should go to Christians especially Catholic Christians priests. That is the actual truth. Appavu sang paeans to the British rule saying that it is because the British passed a law that allowed buying of lands. It enabled Christians to buy lands and build the institution. He said “ if not for Lord Macaulay, education for all wouldn’t have been possible. If Tamil Nadu has reached the top in education today, the root cause for that has been the schools and colleges started by Catholic Christians, the Christian pastors and sisters who taught”.

It is pertinent to mention that sometime back, TN Education minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi in a function threatened Hindus, saying “If anything to happen to Christians and Muslims, entire India would rally behind them.  Tirupur South MLA K Selvaraj wrote a letter to CM asking for his intervention to stop the sealing of illegal mosques.  He threatened the officials, who went to seal the premises as per court orders.

Last year pastor George Ponnaiah said “DMK came to power to the alms of Christians.  Pro-LTTE Christian missionary Jegath Gaspar Raj openly called for another partition of India on the basis of religion.

Another DMK former councillor from Erode has written a letter to the HM of a government school asking him to permit Muslim students to do Namaz for ten minutes at noon, as a large number of Muslims are studying in the school. (In a counter move, Hindu Munnani asked permission for 15 minutes to recite the Hayagriva Strotram, Skanda Shasti hymn and Bhagavat Gita). The DMK government had tried to stop the morning prayers in all schools earlier.

Besides, forced conversion is rampant in Tamil Nadu. Even school students are not spared. Another monster is the love jihad besides suicides of girl students from schools and colleges. If it is happened in minority institutions, it would not be reported in any DMK-controlled media. The Hinduphobic DMK government’s secularism is nothing but appeasement of minorities at the cost of Hindus. It has been said and written several times but the TN voters still believe DMK.
