Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister of Defence for Strategic Affairs Mr Ahmed A Aseeri called on Defence Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar on June 30, 2022 and discussed ways to enhance defence cooperation between the two countries. The Deputy Minister briefed the Defence Secretary about the 5th meeting of India-Saudi Arabia Joint Committee on Defence Cooperation (JCDC) that was held on June 29, 2022. During the JCDC meeting, the two sides reviewed the progress made in military-to-military engagements, including joint exercises, expert exchanges and industry cooperation. It was decided to identify new avenues and examine areas of mutual interest for Joint Venture in order to enhance defence industry cooperation.

Air Commodore Sanjay Sharma and Flying Officer Ananya Sharma created history when they flew in the same formation of Hawk-132 aircraft at Air Force Station Bidar, where Flying Officer Ananya Sharma is undergoing her training. There has not been any previous instance in the IAF where a father and his daughter were part of the same fighter formation for a mission.

ALH SQUADRON INAS 324 COMMISSIONED AT VISAKHAPATNAM

Indian Naval Air Squadron 324 was commissioned into the Indian Navy in the presence of Vice Admiral Biswajit Dasgupta, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command at held at INS Dega, Visakhapatnam on July 4, 2022. The unit is the first Naval Squadron on the Eastern Seaboard operating the indigenously designed and built ALH MK III (MR) helicopters.

IAF RECEIVES 7.5 LAKH APPLICATIONS UNDER AGNIPATH SCHEME

IAF has received 7.5 lakh applications under the “Agnipath” recruitment scheme. The registration process under the scheme that began on June 24, 2022 ended on July 5, 2022. Compared to 6,31,528 applications in the past, which was the highest in any recruitment cycle, this time 7,49,899 applications have been received.
