Sidhu Moosewala’s posthumously released song SYL shows distorted Indian map & visuals of terrorist Bhindranwale

This is not the first time the late singer Siddhu Moosewala used visuals of Bhindranwale in his song; earlier in his song Panjab (My Motherland), Moosewala used the videos of Bhindrawle and said Punjab is not Kashmir which you will grab with power.

The latest song of Sidhu Moosewala (SYL), released posthumously by his family on June 23, shows a distorted map of India and the visuals of Bhindranwale.

The high-beat song was released on the official Youtube page of the late rapper, and within an hour, the video gained over one million views. The black and white video shows the throwback footage of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. It also has the map of India, which shows the distorted map of India (Kashmir, northeast, southern part not shown).

This is not the first time the late singer Siddhu Moosewala used visuals of Bhindranwale in his song; earlier in his song Panjab (My Motherland), Moosewala used the videos of Bhindrawle and said Punjab is not Kashmir which you will grab with power. The song also included scenes from a speech by Khalistan supporter Bhoopar Singh Balbir in 1980.

Here is the list of controversies involving Sidhu Moosewala:

Using AK-47s with policemen

In May 2020, two videos of Moose Wala went viral on social media, in which he was seen taking training in operating an AK-47 and a personal pistol along with five police officers.

In this case, cases were registered against Moose Wala under the Arms Act and the police started raids to arrest him. However, Moose Wala went underground to evade arrest. He was later granted bail for his involvement in the police investigation.

Scapegoat song

In April 2022, Sidhu Moose Wala had sparked a row after he targeted the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its supporters in his latest song ‘Scapegoat’. The singer had allegedly called AAP supporters ‘gaddar’ (traitor) in his song.

Controversy in 2019

His song ‘Jatti Jeonay Morh Di Bandook Wargi’, released in September 2019, kicked off a controversy over a reference to 18th-century Sikh warrior Mai Bhago. He was accused of showing this Sikh warrior in a poor light. Moosewala had later tendered an apology.

The singer-turned-politician was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Jawaharke village in Mansa district of Punjab on Sunday, a day after the Punjab government curtailed his security cover.
