Atheists, fringe political parties like DMK, and YouTubers of Tamil Nadu are following a new trend by making derogatory and highly abusive rants on Hinduism, Gods, and spiritual beliefs. Putting off offensive and vulgar videos, speeches, and articles on Hindu Gods are on the rise after DMK came to power.

A recent incident in Madurai where the rally participants spewed venom against Hindus and Hindu Gods. These fringe outfits in Tamil Nadu took a rally abusing Goddess Amman, Lord Krishna, and Lord Ayyappan and insulting Hindu faith followers.

Rabid Hindu phobic outfits like Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam (DVK), Thol Thirumavalavan’s Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), Popular Front of India, Communists, and other “Periyar”-ist letter pad entities had organized a ‘mega-rally’ under the name of “Periyariya Unarvalargal Kottamaippu” in Madurai on May 29, 2022. This rally was publicized as the “Sensattai Rally” ( Redshirts march). In the rally, members of the DVK led by the outfit’s Namakkal district head raised slogans abusing Hindu Gods and Hindus. “That Maari (Goddess Amman) who asks for the sacrifice of goats and pigs a God? Is Kannan (Lord Krishna), who raped woman, a God? Will a child be born if a man and man have sex? Is calling Ayyappan a God rational?” the men clad in red shirts can be heard shouting in a video that was in circulation.

“Hey, you devotee who comes dancing taking piercings in the body.. Why don’t come piercing it through your chest once? Hey, you devotee who comes dancing taking piercings in the jaw. Why don’t you try piercing it through your throat once? Hey, you devotee who comes walking with needles in the tongue.. Why don’t you come piercing it through your eyes once?” the rabid “Periyar” ists went about shouting in the middle of the road. It enraged the devotees’ sentiments but they kept quiet. They never question Muslims’ killing of camels, goats, and their other barbaric rituals’.

After knowing about the rally through the viral video, Hindu outfits have been demanding action against the organizers of the rally and the slogan shouters who brazenly abused the Hindu gods.

Leaders and outfits aligned with the ruling DMK. VCK MP from Chidambaram Thol. Thirumavalavan, CPI-M MP from Madurai Su. Venkatesan, senior CPI-M leader G. Ramakrishnan, and DVK chief Kolathur Mani were some of the prominent leaders who attended the ‘Sensattai rally’.

Dravidar Kazhagam leader Veeramani said Lord Krishna should be booked under POSCO for his raping innumerable women and abusive comments on other Gods. DMK MP Kanimozhi ridiculed why an offertory at Lord Balaji temple in Tirupathi needs police protection. VCK MP Thol Thirumavalavan said all Hindu women are prostitutes. Lyrist Vairamuthu described poet and saint Andal as Devadasi. Christian preachers are regularly making derogatory remarks like Satan etc.

On April 26, a rabid anti-Hindu YouTube channel named U2 Brutus released a video titled “This is the reason why Nataraja stands with his leg lifted “. A person who identifies himself as ‘Minor’ resorts to slandering Hindu God Siva and Goddess Kaali. It appears that it is more about frightening those expressing nationalistic views and criticizing the DMK government and Dravidar Kazhagam’s anti-Hindu moves. In November 2021, the channel released a video titled “Pornography in Vedas” in which ‘Minor’ and an alleged Saivite scholar named Prakash derogate the Vedas, the holy scripture of the Hindus.

Surendar Natarajan alias ‘Naathigan’ of Karuppar Koottam YouTube channel, who was arrested for putting abusive and vulgar videos of Hindu Gods and released weeks after DMK came to power, justified his abuses against Lord Murugan and added that he would continue to speak against Hindu Puranas and Gods through his new YouTube channel. Dr K Kantharaj, a Dravidian-demagogue doctor and brother of former TN speaker K Rajaram, who appears on several YouTube channels, spewed venom and made genocidal remarks against the Tamil Brahmin community. He also derogated Hindu Gods like Lord Ram and Krishna and made scandalous remarks on April 1, marked as Tamil New Year.

But the, both Dravidian parties consider taking action against them unworthy and indirectly allow these fringe outfits to indulge in anti-Hindu rants unfettered to further their political ambitions and appease minorities. But it has arrested a you-tuber, Karthick Gopinath, on flimsy grounds of collecting money to rebuild a temple (vandalized by Christians) to intimidate his stay away from criticizing DMK and CM Stalin. Vlogger Maridhas, Kishor K Swamy, and BJP leader Kalyanaraman also faced similar cases.
