Arvind Kejriwal led Delhi Government, on Monday (May 16), directed all private schools in Delhi to return the tuition fees collected from minority communities from classes 1 to 12. The private schools in Delhi have been directed to return the fees collected from minority students under ‘Reimbursement of Tuition Fees to Minority Students from 1 to 12’, which is a state-funded scheme.
Under the scheme, the state government will pay the tuition fees for all minority students in the state whose family income is below 3.00 lakhs per annum.
As per the circular issued by the state government, the schools had been asked to implement reimbursement order for 2020-21 and 2021-22 on the e-district portal by May 12, but many schools failed to complete the process on time, which has resulted in a delay of payment to the beneficiary students.
The state government directed all DDE (Zones/Districts) to complete online verification of all applications on the e-district portal for 2020-21 and 2021-22 as per the scheme’s guidelines.
As per the circular, DDE(Zones) have to collect a hard copy certificate from the school with their signature that they verified the online procedure as per the scheme’s guidelines.
