BJP emerges as the single largest party in Mara Autonomous District Council polls

New Delhi: The BJP has emerged as the single largest party in Mizoram’s Mara Autonomous District Council polls.

BJP organisational general Secretary BL Santhosh has welcomed the verdict.

“By winning 12 of the 25 seats that went to polls in Mara Autonomous District Council , Mizoram @BJP4India further spreads its wings in North East taking forward Sabka Saath : Sabka Vishwas vision of PM Narendra Modi,” he tweeted.

BJP won 12 of the 25 seats, while the state’s ruling Mizo National Front could win 9 seats only.

Of course, MNF is a constituent of the BJP-led North East Democratic Alliance in the region.

The next Mizoram state elections are scheduled to be held in November-December 2023.
