The Kerala Police arrested four Popular Front of India (PFI) terrorists and one Imam for the murder of RSS Swayamsevak Sreenivasan.

The arrested four are identified as Muhammed Bilal, 22; Muhammed Riswan, 20; A Riyasudheen, 35; and Sahad, 22; all PFI terrorists from Palakkad district in Kerala. Saddam Hussain, the Imam of Sankuvaramedu mosque in Palakkad, was arrested Friday (April 22) for harbouring PFI terrorists.

Sreenivasan, 45, was hacked to death on April 16 after a local PFI terrorist, A Subair, was murdered. The Kerala Police had formed an SIT to investigate the murder of Sreenivasan.

ADGP Vijay Sakhare told the media that police had identified 16 accused associated with Sreenivasan’s murder. “They (PFI terrorists) had conspired for a revenge killing on April 15, the day local Subair was murdered. They met near a ground behind the mortuary of the district hospital, where Subair’s body was kept for the postmortem,” Sakhare said.

Posting a video of Sreenivasan’s daughter on Twitter, Kerala BJP President K. Surendran said, “Kum. Navaneetha Sreenivasan is the D/o Swargeeya Sreenivasan ji, who was brutally murdered by PFI terrorists in Palakkad. She is the epitome of courage. Even in excruciating pain, her courage gives strength to generations to come. No force on earth can destroy our morale.”

The Sankuvaramedu mosque in Palakkad, where the police suspect assailants were trained, is managed by the Popular Front of India.

News18 had reported on April 15 that the Union government was considering banning Islamist organisation PFI. The organisation was also involved in attacks on Ram Navami processions in many parts of the country.

Recently, the burqa controversy was orchestrated by the PFI in Karnataka. In the first week of February, suddenly, some Muslim girls started demanding that they be allowed in classrooms in a burqa. Later, media investigations revealed that PFI, its political arm SDPI and student wing Campus Front of India (CFI) had orchestrated the controversy, which had got support from the Taliban and the al Qaeda.
