On the occasion of Ram Navami on April 10, multiple processions, Shobha Yatras, were taken out all over the country. Islamists attacked many processions.

One such procession which came under heavy stone-pelting by a Muslim mob was in Jharkhand’s Lohardaga. Muslims attacked the procession in the Hirhi village of Lohardaga with stones and rods.

Multiple devotees, including women and children, were injured. Local residents told Times Now that chowkidar of the local police station Shamsul Ansari was also involved in the attack. He was aware of the planning of the attack but did not inform his superiors about the plans of the Muslims.

“He (Ansari) had all the information about what the Muslims were going to do. But still, he did not inform the administration. It was done with full planning. Ansari just told the administration that he would handle everything. And he ended up allowing stone pelting to happen in the area,” Nageshwar Pandey, a victim, said.

A mob of more than a thousand Muslims had attacked the procession. Many involved in the attack had come from outside.

“Yes, there were people from outside as well. About 1,000 Muslim young men had assembled at the mosque. They suddenly came out wearing topis to target the Ram Navami procession. They were carrying stones in bags and also possessed long axes,” Pandey added.

There is a mosque and burial ground from where the procession had to pass. The moment it reached the mosque, it came under heavy stone-pelting.

“There is a burial ground on the way. After the procession passed the burial ground, the stone pelting started. About 500-700 people came out of the mosque and started pelting stones. I was hit with a stone at the back of my head. The attackers must have been called from various places,” another victim testified.

In the attack, one devotee had lost his life.

Ram Navami processions in many parts of the country had come under heavy attacks by Muslim mobs. In Rajasthan’s Karauli, a bike rally organised to celebrate Nav Samvastar, the first day of the new year under the Hindu calendar, was disrupted as it came under heavy attack by a Muslim mob on April 2.

The Muslim mob not only pelted stones on the rally but also set on fire multiple bikes and shops. About 50 people, including four policemen, were injured. Multiple media investigations revealed that the attack was pre-planned.

In Delhi’s Jahangirpuri, Hanuman Jayanti Shobha Yatra, on April 16, was attacked by stones, bottles, rods and bullets. The procession was moving peacefully. When it reached the C-Block Jama Masjid, it came under a sudden attack.
