The trio refused to make the payment after having tea in Sewaram’s Dhaba, which resulted in a scuffle. The trio returned the next day and stabbed Sewaram to death, and dumped his body in a field in Fatehgarh West.
In Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly, Dhaba owner Sewaram did not know that asking for money for the tea he had served would cost him his life. But this is what happened.
Munawwar Khan, Mozim Khan, and Musharraf Khan visited Sewaram’s Dhaba on Delhi-Lucknow highway on March 11 for tea.
After having the tea, the trio refused to make the payment. Sewaram showed them the new rate list and asked them to pay extra four rupees as the price had been increased. This resulted in a scuffle.
The next day on March 12, the trio returned and pretended to apologise for thrashing Sewaram for the March 11 incident. They asked him to join them for a drink.
Not realising their real intentions, Sewaram let bygones be bygones. After sitting with him for a few minutes, the trio stabbed Sewaram to death and dumped his body in a field in Fatehgarh West.
The Times of India quoted Bareilly SSP Rohit Singh Sajwan, “We have recovered the murder weapon and the vehicle used for dumping the body. The accused have confessed that the crime was committed under the influence of alcohol.”
But the police could not explain why Munawwar Khan, Mozim Khan, and Musharraf Khan returned the very next day and were carrying knives if it was not a pre-planned murder and it just happened under the influence of alcohol.
