Qutub Minar in Delhi was illuminated on Saturday (March 5) to mark the fourth year of Jan Aushadhi Diwas, which is celebrated every year on March 7.
On Saturday (March 5) night, Qutub Minar in Delhi was illuminated with colourful lights. Announcing it on Twitter, the Twitter handle of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) put out a tweet saying, “Qutub Minar illuminated with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Jan Aushadhi theme from 5-7th March 2022.”
Chinese state media Global Times on Monday (March 7) put out a tweet claiming, “India lit up the Qutub Minar, one of the landmark buildings in New Delhi, with the colors of the Russian flag.”
The fact-checking team of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) tweeted that the Chinese claim was misleading as the lit-up work was carried out as part of Janaushadhi Diwas celebrations.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a military operation in Ukraine. The armed conflict hasn’t ended yet.
The Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana is a central government campaign launched by the Department of Pharmaceuticals to provide quality medicines at affordable prices to the masses.
Speaking on occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Jan Aushadhi Kendras not only medicate the body but are also the remedy to concerns of the mind. Moreover, they also provide relief to the people as they save money. The apprehension regarding the cost of medicines written in the prescription has also subsided. If we look at the figures of this financial year, then more than 800 crore rupees worth of medicines have been sold through Jan Aushadhi Kendras.”
“There are more than 8,500 Jan Aushadhi Kendras in the country. These centers are no longer just government stores but are becoming centers of solution and convenience for the common man. Sanitary napkins for women are also available for one rupee at these centers. The sale of over 21 crore sanitary napkins is proof that Jan Aushadhi Kendras are making life easier for a large number of women,” he added.
Chinese state media Global Times does propaganda work for the Communists in China. In the ongoing Chinese aggression at the Indian border, Global Times has been spreading a lot of fake news through fake and manipulated videos.
