In a gory incident which has sent shockwaves in the region, Feroze Mohammed attacked Sandeep Dudhia with a knife on Saturday (January 29) in western UP’s Baghpat and slit his throat.
The incident happened in the afternoon when Sandeep was working in the field. The video of the bleeding Sandeep with people holding his throat in an attempt to stop bleeding has gone viral on social media platforms.
Sandeep was rushed to the nearby hospital from where he was referred to the city hospital after his condition deteriorated. The family of Sandeep lodged a police complaint and the police is searching for the accused.
The Baghpat police said the FIR in the case has been registered and police is searching for the accused. In a post on Twitter, Baghpat police said, “संदीप के पिता ने थाने पर तहरीर दी कि संदीप को गाँव के ही फिरोज ने चाकू मार दिया है। संदीप को तत्काल अस्पताल पहुँचाया गया जहाँ उनका उपचार चल रहा है। डॉक्टर ने उनको खतरे से बाहर बताया है। अभियोग पंजीकृत कर लिया गया है। विवेचनात्मक कार्यवाही प्रचलित है।”
Immediately after the news spread like wildfire in the region, the office-bearers of Hindu Jagran Manch (HJM) reached Sandeep’s house. They protested at the police station and demanded arrest of Feroze.
The HJM also demanded that police ensure swift justice in the case.
