Imphal: For the first time Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will contest in all the 60 assembly constituencies of Manipur in the ensuing 12 Manipur Legislative Assembly Elections 2022.
The Central Election Committee of BJP on Sunday announced its candidates for the ensuing general elections to Manipur Legislative Assembly.
Chief Minister, N Biren Singh and Speaker YumnamKhemchand Singh will contest from Heingang and Singjamei assembly constituency respectively. The list also includes Cabinet Ministers, Th Bishwajit Singh, Th Satyabarta Singh, SorokhaibamRajen Singh, OinamLukhoi, Letpao Haokip and Karam Shyam Singh.
BJP MLA from Wangkhei, Y Irabot Singh and MLA from Moirang, PukhremSharatchandra Singh were excluded from the list. Former Chief of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, KonthoujamGobindas and Trinamool MLA, TongbramRobindro Singh were named for Bishnupur and Thanga assembly constituencies respectively.
Three women SoraisamKebi Devi, S. S Olish and NemchaKipgen were named as BJP candidates for Naoriyapakhanglakpa and Chandel (ST) seats.
