Jahangir, Mohammed Mannan and Farhan arrested for lynching journalist Sudhir Saini in Saharanpur

Jahangir, Mohammed Mannan and Farhan were travelling in a car in Saharanpur. Journalist Sudhir Saini, who was on a motorbike, overtook the car and this angered them.

Saharanpur: The Saharanpur police in Uttar Pradesh arrested Jahangir, Mohammed Mannan and Farhan on Thursday (January 27) for the lynching of journalist Sudhir Saini.

Saini was going to the district centre for some work. On the way, he overtook a car in which accused Jahangir, Mohammed Mannan and Farhan were travelling. This angered them and they confronted the journalist.

Jahangir, Mohammed Mannan and Farhan took out rods from their vehicle and started thrashing Sudhir. Some people tried to intervene but both the accused overpowered the journalist.

After thrashing him badly, the accused fled from the scene. When Sudhir was taken to the hospital in a serious condition, he succumbed to his injuries.

Journalist Sudhir was working with the district newspaper Shah Times. Police had arrested the accused Jahangir and Farhan. Later in the day, the third accused Mohammed Mannan was also arrested.

The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Saharanpur said, “Jahangir and Farman were immediately arrested by Saharanpur police in case involving death of Mr Sudhir Saini (Shah Times) due to road rage incident. We will ensure that they are convicted in a fast-tracked manner.”
