New Delhi: One more well-known face in Punjab Congress, Harjot Kamal Singh, sitting MLA from Moga, has joined BJP. He joined the saffron party in the presence of Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the party's election in charge of the state.

Former state legislator Ajit Singh Shant, Pradesh Congress spokesperson Gurpal Singh Goldi and another leader Kamaljit Singh Patiala have also joined the BJP and Shekhawat welcomed the leaders into the party fold at Chandigarh on Saturday (January 15).

Sources said Congress MLA from Moga Harjot Kamal was expecting a Congress ticket and could now contest as a BJP aspirant. In such a possibility, he will be pitted against actor Sonu Sood's sister Malavika from Moga.

Meanwhile, former Union Minister and leader of new outfit Akali Dal (S) Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wants to remove Bhagwant Mann from the list of CM contenders for AAP and ultimately wants to occupy the chair himself if AAP gets the requisite numbers. He said Mann too would face the same fate as other Punjab AAP presidents had in the past.
