Maoists kill a couple along with four others in a week in Chhattisgarh

Maoists killed six youths in Chhattisgarh's Maoist-affected areas within a week. According to the preliminary reports, the Maoists first organised their infamous Kangaroo court (Jan Adalat) in Indaar village, under the jurisdiction of Gangloor police station of Bijapur and then murdered two youths of the local forest dwellers community by accusing them of being police informers. A young female companion of the said community was also brutally killed in this action.

The slain youth and the girl have been identified as Kamalu Poonam and Mangi, and both of them were said to be the former militia commanders of the Maoist outfit who recently parted away from the LWE to get married. Fear prevailed in the entire area after these gruesome killings by the Naxals, and no one wants to utter a word about the incident. The Maoists recently killed a mentally challenged person in Bijapur, accusing him of being a police informer.

Confirming the incident, Bijapur Superintendent of Police Kamlochan Kashyap said that he got the information about the incident. A team has been dispatched to the spot, and a search operation is being conducted in the nearby areas. While in two similar incidents, two youths from Rajnandgaon and Kanker district were also brutally killed by the Ultras. According to the inputs available, while the youth in Kanker was shot dead in broad daylight in a market, the other one from Rajnandgaon was strangled to death by the Maoist.
