The incident was reported from Orchids The International School in Bengaluru.

When children fail to solve math problems, teachers are expected to teach them again. But, teacher Sarika Rana Khan forced children to pray to better God, Allah, when they failed to solve math problems.

A video of a young child making these allegations has gone viral. The child could be heard saying, "The Maths problem was confusing, we weren't able to crack that problem. So, the Teacher told us to Pray to Allah… the Teacher scolded us & made us make a bowl shape with hands and pray."

The incident reportedly happened in Orchids The International School in Bengaluru. The school management has denied all the allegations. This is the same school that was in the news in 2014 for the sexual assault involving a four-year-old child.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson SG Suryah said that rather than indulging in whataboutery, the school management should take action against the teacher. He said, "The frightened kid clearly calls out the Teacher's name as Sarika & her shameless Wahhabi campaign in spite of kids telling "We are Hindus!" So, stop this makeover & accept it & take action against the Teacher. We are not fools to believe your stupid PR."

Columnist G Pradeep asked the school management to take action against the Teacher. He posted, "A teacher named Sarika Rana from @Orchids_School BTM Layout, Bengaluru has forced kids to Pray to Allah claiming Allah is a better god."

The school management tweeted a series of responses, but later deleted them and protected its Twitter account. The school is run by St. Theresa Educational Cultural and Social Development Society and has campuses in Mumbai, Bhopal and Bengaluru.

In a bizarre explanation about the act of making a bowl shape with hands as the act of eye exercise, the school said, "It is a Two Minutes Eye Exercise (TMEE) conducted during online sessions, which is intended to help the children rest their eyes due to the screen time."
