The 16th Triennial National Convention of Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad was held on December 25 and 26, 2021, at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Mahavidyalaya, Hardoi. The central theme of the convention was 'Sahitya ka Pradaya' (Delivery of Literature). Writers of different Indian languages from across the country discussed this topic in several sessions. The eminent Kannada novelist Padma awardee Shri S L Bhyrappa inaugurated the convention by lighting the lamp in front of Maa Saraswati. Addressing the inaugural session, Shri Bhyrappa said that India has a rich knowledge tradition. We have a vast store of Puranic literature such as Ramayana etc., Gita, Mahabharata. He said that the first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, was influenced by communism. Government institutions were systematically captured by the Communists. He said that the purpose of literature is to establish the values of life.
Shri Swant Ranjan, Akhil Bharatiya Baudhik Pramukh, said that ‘India was never a rashtra, and that Aryans came from outside’ — all these are fabricated things spread by the British in a planned manner. Today all these things have been proved untrue. India is an ancient county. City dwellers, villages, forest dwellers and Girivasis are all natives. He said that as 'Rashtra' and 'Nation' are different, so 'Dharma' and 'Religion'. Today, we must keep all these things in front of society through various mediums of literature. Shri Ranjan called upon the litterateurs that there is a need to work on how all Indian languages should be upgraded.
Addressing the convention, Shri Shridhar Paradkar, National Organisation Minister, Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad, said that literature should be written according to the tradition and culture of India. Sahitya Parishad works to change the entire environment of the literary world. He said that we do not have to do only literary programmes. In place of the distortion which has been intentionally brought in the literature, we have to bring goodness in the literature. Shri Paradkar said that only when we study deeply we will be able to create good literature.
Educationist and litterateur Dr Sushil Chandra Trivedi 'Madhupesh', resident of Allipur, Hardoi, was elected as the National President of the Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad. He served as the National Vice President of the Sahitya Parishad till now. Shri Rishi Kumar Mishra was again elected as the National General Secretary and Dr Pawanputra Badal as National Joint General Secretary. Dr Sadhna, Dinesh Pratap Singh and Prof Neelam Rathi have been appointed as the National Ministers of Sahitya Parishad.
