Chamatkar: Wonder or Miracle?

Many seekers don’t digress to miracle mania (chamatkar). Instead, they feel, it is wise to focus on sadhana (penance) to become worthier for experiencing higher and higher stages of transcendence (chamatkar)

Though Tatvik-Prakriti (essential nature) of ‘higher consciousness’ is Chamatkari (transformational/ transcendental) and feeling grateful for that is virtuous yet, indulging in exhibiting miracles (chamatkars) becomes deviation.

I have juxtaposed not multiple but just two categories of meanings of the same word to indicate how our coming from one kind of cultural background makes us perceive one kind of meaning and our coming from another kind of background makes us perceive another kind of meanings even when in the present, the context is one and same only. Even in today’s global-hobnobbing climate where, in one way or the other, we all are exposed more intensely and closely to diverse civilisational and cultural backgrounds yet, our perceptions are not free from biases.

If we stay wise and analyse our own lot intelligently which means without succumbing to cultural biases and individual weaknesses (gross inclinations), we can cross the hurdles which block higher consciousness from unfolding in us. The hurdle is believing. Believing puts full stop to spiritual evolution (realisation) while trusting puts onus and spotlight back on ourselves to experience, evolve and become. Believing is renouncing responsibility while trusting is accepting responsibility. Accepting responsibility leads towards fulfillment here and hereafter while believer-attitude stymies consciousness and kills its potential to flower and spread the fragrance of that ultimate reality/wonder (chamatkar) that we all essentially are individually as well as collectively.

The ultimate reality doesn’t judge. Though, it looks at itself albeit through each one’s individual form yet, it does that transparently in the spirit of oneness and openness. Transparency can be manifested much more meaningfully in the environment of mutual trust and responsibilities are carried out much more transparently. None can believe for long without transparency and feigning it for sake of social conformity and psychological stability ultimately leads to meaninglessness, distrust and sadness. When there is an atmosphere of distrust and sadness then inner light goes kaput and instead of materialising the consciousness we begin to become more conscious about material possessions. The way is lost. Cocooning consciousness in any belief is sin. Because, it is nothing but letting ourselves become the means for our Aatm-hatya (killing the immortal soul) not homicide. Suppressing the higher consciousness from its spontaneous unveiling of itself in its purest and highest splendour through our lives and, not letting it reveal its immortality through unfolding its infinite expanse in our intelligence is not the way to attain the goal of life. Manifesting it is the way.

If we stay wise and analyse our own lot intelligently which means without succumbing to cultural biases and individual weaknesses (gross inclinations), we can cross the hurdles which block higher consciousness from unfolding in us

Many seekers who persevered and tasted higher consciousness have been acknowledging this for eons that the ones who taste it don't attempt to test it. They don’t digress to miracle mania (chamatkar). Instead, they feel, it is wise to focus on sadhana (penance) to become worthier for experiencing higher and higher stages of transcendence (chamatkar).  Testing/exhibiting is clearly the diversion from the goal. Moreover, it is certain that at some point of sadhana (disciplined life)  everyone discovers that one has always been ensconced in the vibrations of grace-divine. One’s sadhana makes one capable of seeing the aforesaid reality as it is; in its unveiled and revealed stage. While the ones who consider themselves as worthy ones, capable of testing it, how can they become worthy of tasting it?  However, whoever persists in seeking, he gets overwhelmed one way or the other, to some extent or the other. They receive some or the other kind of evidence that higher consciousness is more humane than that which is popularly known as the human consciousness. Many could affirm the veracity of the aforementioned assertion even in this limited span called human life.

Sanatan (Ever existent) and vartmaan (present) sat-sang is the evidence of the assertion made at the outset of this column. Here, Sat means any person whom we as individual seeker finds personification of higher truth than our own individual self and, sang refers to associating ourselves as individuals with such a person and keeping his/her company. Vartmaan (present) means any such person present in the present times. And, sanatana in this context should be taken to mean that such truthful persons are always present on the earth; however, their number varies.

Purer observers recognise sat-sang’s doubtless impact on our individual consciousness and becoming yet a worthy recipient. And, when they transform, how can they  resist acknowledging it as a real wonder (chamatkar)!
