Former Rahul Gandhi fanboy and current TMC member Saket Gokhale collected crores in the name of filing complaints, RTIs and is now refusing to divulge the expenditure details.

As more and more days pass by, more and more details are emerging how Saket Gokhale, a former Rahul Gandhi fanboy who joined Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress in August last year, amassed crores from donors on false promises. Gokhale has been collecting funds in the name of filing complaints and RTIs for many years. After exposing how he was misusing the funds, Gokhale said the collected funds were always for his personal use.

In a post in August 2019, Gokhale said that every contribution matters and would produce an account of the money he spent. In a somersault on Saturday (January 1), Gokhale said that the money collected was always for his personal use. Hence, there was no need to produce an account of the expenses.

He posted, "When I first raised funds, the page clearly stated that it was for my sustenance to do my work full-time without a job (not for Rs. 10 RTI expenses). The kind people who supported me are aware of it. You don't promise "audited accounts" for your monthly life expenses."

Gokhale claims the crowdfunding was deactivated in mid-2020, but he asked for contributors' funds in a post on December 28, 2020.

On many occasions for collecting funds, Gokhale claimed he would be expanding his team and train more RTI activists. When asked for the details of any such project, he has started blocking people on social media platforms.

When poet Hussain Haidry raised questions over the dubious deals of Saket Gokhale, he threatened to take action against him.

Haidry responded, "If I am "targeting" you and these are "misapprehensions," why don't you publicly prove me wrong:

1. FIR with strictest sections on behalf of TMC (since you claimed "outside of Twitter actions") 2. Audited Receipt & Payment A/C from cashbook and bank statement 3. Status of work."

Gokhale's response? He has started to delete old tweets, block people who have been asking for accountability and is threatening to take action against those asking for accountability.
