BJP leader murder case: Kerala Police arrest 2 more PFI-SDPI workers

Thiruvananthapuram: Police have arrested two SDPI workers in connection with the murder of BJP leader Renjith Sreenivasan in Alappuzha.

The arrests were made on Tuesday. Renjith was the BJP OBC wing's state secretary.

In total seven persons have been arrested in connection with the murder. Of the seven, five were arrested earlier.

Renjith was hacked to death in Alappuzha district on December 19. The ruling apparatus's soft corner towards the fundamentalists was blatant when the postmortem of Renjith was postponed to the next day morning even though he was killed by 6.30 am. Though four or five SDPI activists were arrested, none were physically involved in the murder but were only blamed for giving logistical support to the killers.

Nithyananda Rai and V. Muraleedharan, Union Ministers of State for Home Affairs and Parliamentary & Foreign Affairs respectively and prominent leaders of BJP, RSS and Sangh-oriented organisations, visited Renjith's home and paid their last respects to him.

It is clear that SDPI gets support from CPM and its government. On the other hand, Congress-led Opposition UDF competes with LDF in shamefully appeasing the fundamentalist vote bankers. Be it Love Jihad, Halal Jihad, eulogy of anti-Hindu Khilafat riots of 1921 or visiting Bangalore jail to see terrorist Abdul Nasar Madani, and both Fronts act as birds of the same feathers. Both Fronts oppose the union government's endeavour to raise the women's age for marriage to 21.

On November 15, an RSS worker S Sanjith was hacked to death allegedly by the workers of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), the political wing of the PFI.
