Mohammed Arshad, Engineering College Teacher in UP, Arrested for Sending Obscene Messages to Female Students

Mohammed Arshad teaches in Veera Engineering College in Bijnor. The owner of the college is Ruchi Veera, a former MLA and leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).

The Uttar Pradesh Police on Wednesday (December 15) arrested Veera Engineering College teacher Mohammed Arshad for sending obscene messages to his female students.

The screenshot on one such message has gone viral on different social media platforms.

In the viral screenshot, Mohammed Arshad is pressurising one female student to be his girlfriend. The victim student is asking him to be in his limits as he is her teacher.

Despite repeated requests of the victim student, Arshad keeps on harassing her.

Many female students, who have been harassed by Arshad, narrated the incidents to their respective parents. After parents approached the college and the screenshot went viral, the police registered an FIR against Arshad.

The head of the management at Veera Engineering College, Bijnor is former MLA and BSP leader Ruchi Veera. Since taking over as chief minister in March 2017, CM Yogi Adityanath has reiterated his commitment to women safety on multiple occasions.

Immediately after coming to power in 2017, Shri Yogi Adityanath ordered the constitution of anti-Romeo Squads to check the eve-teasing of the female students. Mission Shakti in Uttar Pradesh is aimed at proving round-the-clock security and safety to women in public places.

CM Yogi Adityanath launched the third phase of the scheme in August this year. The scheme was launched in October last year.
