Kashi has special importance in the life and philosophies of Hindus. The effort is seen as a giant step in re-establishing ancient India's culture.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the reconstruction works of Kashi Vishwanath Dham on December 13.

BJP general secretary Tarun Chugh said Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath and about three thousand religious leaders, saints, artists and other dignitaries from across the country would attend the programme. He said Prime Minister Modi had started the work of beautification of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham.

Chugh said there will be a festival in Kashi from December 13 to January 14 (2022), and the programme will be telecast/shown live at 51 thousand places in the country.

The BJP leaders say Prime Minister Modi has drawn out a visionary plan to re-establish India's ancient culture on the global arena, realising the dream and ambition of crores of Indians through 'Divya Kashi – Bhavya Kashi'.

Kashi is a very ancient city, the mythological city on the banks of Mother Ganga, which originated from the hair locks of Lord Shiva. It is considered one of the holy 'Sapta puris'. This great city is mentioned in many texts, including Rigveda, Skanda Purana, Ramayana and Mahabharata and Matsya Purana.

On December 13, PM Modi will dedicate to the nation and the world the massive redevelopment and beautification of the revered Kashi Vishwanath Dham, one of the Dwadashi 'Jyotirlings' of Lord Shiva, situated in this ancient and vibrant city. The grandeur of Kashi Vishwanath Dham is magnificent, where the name of Lord Mahadev reverberates.
