Mohammed Sahil fired six bullets on Tanishka Sharma in Haryana's Sampla on her wedding day. Tanishka is battling for her life in PGI Rohtak.

The Haryana Police have formed six teams to track Mohammed Sahil, who is still on the run. The incident happened on Thursday (December 2). The police have also rounded up two minors passing all the information about Tanishka's wedding to Sahil.

"When we reached near the Shiv temple around 11.30 pm, an Innova that was chasing us for quite some time, overtook our vehicle and blocked our way. Three people were seated in the Innova and two men got out of the car carring revolvers and asked Sunil to open our car door. They took the car keys, fired multiple gunshots at Tanishka. When Sunil tried to intervene, they assaulted him and even snatched his gold chain. They fled after firing gunshots in the air. Tanishka was admitted to Rohtak's PGIMS where her condition is stated to be critical", The Indian Express quoted bridegroom Mohan.

Mohan, a resident of Bhali-Anandpur village, got married to Tanishka Sharma, a resident of Sampla village, on December 1. The incident took place in Bhali-Anandpur village when the couple was going home. Mohan's brother Sunil was driving the car.

In a similar incident in Haryana's Faridabad, Nikita, 21, was murdered in broad daylight on October 26 last year by Tausef and Rehan. A B. Com. final year student, she had just stepped out of her college after writing her exams when the duo intercepted her.  Tausef and Rehan first tried to abduct her in a car, but Tausef fired at her when she resisted. He was harassing her for some time. Tausef is from an influential political family.

The incident was captured on a camera. The Haryana government had formed an SIT to investigate the murder.

The prosecution has demanded the death penalty, but the trial court sentenced them for life in March this year. Nikita's mother, too, wanted the death penalty for her daughter's killers. The trial had begun in December last year.
