Lone LJP MLA in Manipur Karam Shyam joins BJP; CM Biren Singh says, “will come back to power with absolute Majority”

Guwahati: Lone LJP MLA in Manipur Karam Shyam joined the BJP on Thursday.

Shyam, a former minister, joined the BJP in the presence of Chief Minister N Biren Singh at a programme in Lilong Chajing Mairenkhong in the Imphal West district.

The chief minister exuded confidence that the BJP would again return to power with the help of Shyam after winning an absolute majority in the assembly polls next year. Taking the twitter CM Singh wrote, "Attended the felicitation ceremony of Shri Karam Shyam for joining BJP today at Lilong Chajing. A leader with great wisdom, I along with the BJP will never forget the sacrifice he had made to deliver a stable and progressive government in Manipur. "

Shyam was also felicitated at a function at the BJP’s state headquarters.

The party’s state unit president A Sarda Devi and national spokesperson Sambit Patra were among the leaders present at the function. Manipur BJP prabhari Sambit Patra wrote , " Participating in the massive Welcome Rally in Langthabal Assembly Constituency in Manipur,organised by Local MLA Shri KaramShyam ji who joined BJP today.

Honourable CM Sh @NBirenSingh ji & State BJP President Smt @AShardaDevi ji too blessed the Rally."
