100 percent first dose COVID vaccination will be completed in Assam by 27th November; CM apprised PM with vaccination status

Mega Vaccination drive in Assam from 22nd November. CM, ministers, CS, DGP, MLA, MP, all officials will go house to house to ensure 100 percent vaccination

Guwahati: Assam will achieve 100 percent first dose covid vaccination by 27th November. The state government has initiated a special drive from 8th to 27th November to vaccinate the left out people in every polling center of the state. The health department will visit each and every household under every polling center of the state to achieve the 100 percent first dose covid vaccination. A team comprising health workers, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and village heads will visit each household of the state to find out left out people from first dose vaccination upto 21st November. From 22nd November starting from chief minister ministers, MLAs, MPs, chief secretary, DGP and all government officials and employees will take charge of one polling center each and will ensure that 100 percent first dose vaccination is done in their respective areas. 

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday night held a video conference from Delhi with all Deputy Commissioners (DC) and Superintendent of Police (SP) to achieve the 100 percent vaccination goal by 27th November.

Health Minister Keshav Mahanta, who was also present in the VC, said that all preparation has been done to achieve the vaccination goal. The house to house verification has already started. By 21 November the health department will have the exact numbers of people left out in the first dose vaccination. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday evening met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and apprised the PM about the vaccination statistics of the state. The CM told the media that there is no shortage of vaccines in the state as the Central government is providing it as per the requirement.
