Women Crusaders: A Healing Touch

Manjiri Arde, who heads Manjiri Textiles, Pratapnagar, Nagpur, started a small business venture in 1983 with a capital of mere Rs 5,000 from a one-room apartment.

Today, she operates a clothing retail showroom from a three-storey building. Thirty-two women workers are making her fulfil her dreams  to do business with compassion for the marginalised communities or those in distress.

During covid with the help of RSS Swayamsewaks, she distributed ration kits, clothes and masks among the needy. She also arranged fruits and water for the frontline workers. For raising awareness about the Covid-19 pandemic, she organised public awareness programs; the campaign testimonies was about managing the pandemic reducing stress, anxiety, and depression during  the lockdown. n
