Two people have been arrested in Palakkad district (Kerala) for transporting Rs 1.64 crore black money in Sabari train. Sheikh Ahmad and one another was arrested by RPF crime intelligence unit. They told the police that they were planning to purchase gold after getting out from Shoranur railway station.
While doing their routine checking, the officials asked these two about the baggage they were carrying. They told that these were dress packets. While checking further these two told the officials that the packets had money. They were also unable to produce any bill.
During the interrogation, these two have confessed to have involved in similar activities earlier also. It is assumed that these people purchases illegally transported gold through airports.
Within one month the officials have caught black money of Rs 2.2 crore and arrested five people in similar cases.
