CM Basavaraj Bommai visited the actor when he was in the hospital along with fellow actors, Darshan, Yash, including the former Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy.

Police personnel have been deployed at the hospital and the actor's residence. Barricades have been placed near his house in Sadashivanagar and are allowing only friends and family members inside.

Tributes are pouring in for the actor on social media from fans and various dignitaries.

The actor's body will be kept at the Kanteerava stadium for fans and well-wishers to pay their last respects. The family hasn't decided the place to perform the last rites.

Puneeth Rajkumar, fondly called Appu by his fans, was the youngest of the five children of the veteran actor Dr. Rajkumar. He was one of the highest-paid actors in the Kannada film industry and was also a television presenter. He is survived by his wife Ashwini Revanth and two children.
