Yogi Adityanath Govt Bans Sale of Meat & Liquor In & Around Mathura-Vrindavan

The Uttar Pradesh government Friday (September 10) issued notification banning the sale of liquor and meat in and around Mathura-Vrindavan.

“UPCM श्री @myogiadityanath जी ने मथुरा-वृंदावन में श्री कृष्ण जन्म स्थल को केंद्र में रखकर 10 वर्ग कि.मी. क्षेत्र के कुल 22 नगर निगम वार्ड, क्षेत्र को तीर्थ स्थल के रूप में घोषित किया है” posted the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s office.

(Keeping the Shri Krishna Janmasthal as the centre, the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has banned the sale of meat and liquor in an area of 10 sq km.)

Earlier, on the occasion of Shri Krishan Janmashtami, the chief minister had visited Mathura and expressed his desire that sale of meat and liquor should be banned in Mathura.

He had also promised to develop Mathura-Vrindavan region as a great pilgrimage site and said there would be no shortage of funds for this.
