A sensational love jihad case has come to the fore under the Cantonment police station in Bhilai city of Chhattisgarh. It is alleged that Mohammad Akbar, aged 25 years, first trapped a 20-year-old girl in his love trap and later took her to Kolkata in December 2020. According to the information received, both of them returned to Bhilai after marrying in Kolkata. But after returning to their home city, the victim was under continuous pressure to break away from her religious customs by Akbar's family.

The victim told in her complaint that before marriage, Akbar had assured her that she would not have to convert her religion under any circumstances and that she was free to follow her customs. The victim also said that both were staying at Akbar's sister's house in Kolkata, where Akbar also had unnatural sex with her several times.

According to the victim's complaint, Akbar and his family continuously pressured her to convert her religion after her return to Bhilai. And when she retaliated, she was tortured mentally and physically. Frustrated by the daily abuse, the girl returned to her parents' place. After narrating the whole incident to her family members, she complained in the police station. The victim girl has also accused Mohammad Akbar of forcibly feeding her beef.

Cantonment station in-charge Vishal Son said that a case has been registered against the accused under serious sections, including unnatural sex, dowry harassment, etc. And at present, the police team is looking for the accused, who has been absconding since the incident. The role of family members in this whole incident also cannot be ignored. A police team is closely looking into all aspects, soon the arrest of the accused will be ensured.

There is a continuous increase in the incidents of love jihad in the state, while such news is coming out almost every day from different parts of the state. In another similar incident, another case of forced conversion has come to light in the Mungeli district. It is being told that an attempt was made to convert a Hindu girl by putting pressure on her forcefully. After the matter came to light, when the people of Hindu society protested, they were attacked by Muslims in the Dau Para area of Mungeli. Seven people are reported to have been injured in this fight between both sides.

Heavy police force and security personnel have been deployed because of the tense situation in the area. At present, the situation is said to be under control. It should be noted that the opposition has been a constant attacker on the government regarding the love jihad and religious conversion taking place in Chhattisgarh. But the government, which is battling with party infighting, is repeatedly ignoring it by calling it a sporadic incident.
