President Ram Nath Kovind to Travel to Ayodhya for Darshan of Shri Ram

President Ram Nath Kovind will reach Ayodhya on a special train on August 29 and perform pooja at the Shri Ram temple. He will also pray at Hanuman Garhi and Kanak Bhawan.

 

President Kovind will leave for Ayodhya from Lucknow in a special train on August 29. 

 

He will become the first serving president to visit Ayodhya for the darshan of Shri Ram. 

 

After reaching Ayodhya, President Kovind will perform pooja at the makeshift temple of Shri Ram.

 

He will be accompanied by Shri Champat Rai, International Vice President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra.

 

Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra is looking after the construction of the Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya. 

 

On August 5 last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed bhoomi poojan for the construction of the Shri Ram temple. 

The President will be on a four-day (August 26-29) visit to Uttar Pradesh and will participate in many public functions. He will also go to Gorakhpur for the foundation laying ceremony of the AYUSH University. In Gorakhpur, he will also inaugurate a hospital of the Gorakhnath University. 

 

On June 25 this year, President Kovind visited his hometown Kanpur in the Presidential train.
