Rambhakt and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh passed away in a hospital in Lucknow on Saturday (August 21).
The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has decided to name the road leading to Shri Ram Janmbhoomi in Ayodhya after Rambhakt Kalyan Singh.
The government has also decided that at least a road each in major cities of Uttar Pradesh will be named after Kalyan Singh. “The road leading to Ram Janmbhoomi in Ayodhya will be named after former UP CM Kalyan Singh (in file photo). Besides Ayodhya, one road each in Lucknow, Prayagraj, Bulandshahr and Aligarh will be named after him,” ANI quoted Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya.
He added, “To honour him one important road each in Ayodhya, Lucknow, Aligarh, Etah, Bulandhshahr & Prayagraj will be named after him. His contribution for Ram Temple construction can never be forgotten.Officers have been directed to draft documents with immediate effect.”
The Bharatiya Janata Party leaders have also been demanding that the Aligarh airport be named after Kalyan Singh. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assured the leaders that the cabinet would consider their demands in its next meeting.
