North East Celebrates the 75th Independence Day of India; National Flag Hoisted in all State Capitals with Immense Pride and Respect

Guwahati: The 75th Independence Day of India is being celebrated across Northeastern states. The celebration started Sunday morning across the region following all the Covid 19 protocols. Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma hoist the national flat at Khanapara veterinary field in Guwahati. He said “honoured to have hoisted the National Flag at Guwahati. My salute to the pride and glory that citizens celebrate on Independent Day. I live, breathe and cherish the ideals that shape our beautiful India.” Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma hoisted the tricolour in Shillong. Addressing the state Sangma said,’ we stand here, humbled by the sacrifices of our forefathers, taking pride in our freedom and this great legacy. We remain steadfast in our commitment to lead our state and country forward.”

 

 

Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu hoisted the national flag at IG Park in Itanagar. Speaking on the occasion Khandu said,” Arunachal will continue its endeavour to achieve prosperity and contribute to the nation-building process.” Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh hoisted the national flat in Imphal. Addressing the gathering Singh said, “this is a day to feel proud about being a part of this great nation. I salute freedom fighters who made supreme sacrifices to give us the freedom we have today.”

 

Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio hoisted the national flag at the civil secretariat plaza in Kohima. Rio stated in his speech, “we remember with gratitude, the freedom fighters and martyrs whose sacrifices have enabled us to live in an Independent India.” Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Dev hoisted the tricolour at Assam Rifles ground in Agartala. Speaking on the occasion De said, “We feel immensely proud to be an Indian on the auspicious occasion of our 75th Independence Day.” Mizoram chief minister Zoramthanga hoisted the national flag in Aizawl. In his speech, the chief minister said, “saluting our frontline workers of the war against Covid on this great day again. Sacrifices of all the freedom fighters will never be forgotten.”

 

On the occasion of the 75th Independence Day of India celebration takes place across the Northeast by various civil societies and organizations. The national flag is hoisted in all the district headquarters and sub-divisional headquarters. Though the public functions and celebrations are restricted due to covid19 situations, people of the region celebrating the auspicious day following covid protocols.
