Thirty ambulances gifted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaches Benapole port in Bangladesh

Thirty ambulances from Pettrapole, India entered the Benapole land port in Bangladesh on Saturday (7th August) morning.

The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi had announced the gift of 109 life support ambulances to the Government of Bangladesh to combat the Covid-19 epidemic.

As per that promise, 30 ambulances have entered the Benapole port of Bangladesh on Saturday (August 07) .

Earlier, another ambulance came to Bangladesh as a gift from India. A total of 31 ambulances came to Bangladesh.

The Indian High Commission expects the remaining seventy eight (78) ambulances to arrive in phases by the end of September.

Meanwhile, the port authorities have tightened security in the field where the ambulance is kept.

Atiqul Islam, assistant director of Benapole land port, said 30 ambulances arrived at the port in the second consignment of gift ambulances. Appropriate security has been ensured by the port. Once the customs and C&F documents are completed, the ambulances will leave Benapole port for Dhaka.
