The victim knew him as Sonu and not as Irshad Ali and became aware of his Muslim identity once he took her home in February 2019.
Another case of Love Jihad has surfaced in Uttar Pradesh’s Bagpat district.
Irshad Ali introduced himself as Sonu to the victim. On Wednesday (August 4), the victim registered an FIR against Irshad Ali and seven of his relatives for forcibly converting her to Islam and force-feeding her beef.
She also said she was gang-raped by seven of Irshad’s relatives.
In 2019, Irshad was running a barbershop in Bagpat. He introduced himself as Sonu to the victim. He raped her on January 26, 2019, and recorded the video.
He started blackmailing her that he would make the video viral on the internet if she did not succumb to his demands.
She was also not aware of the marital status of Irshad. On February 23, 2019, Irshad and his brother Ayyub and brother-in-law Billu took her to a Maulavi where she was converted and married to Irshad using a fake marriage certificate.
The other relatives of Irshad also raped her. When she protested, they threatened to make her video viral.
Irshad, Ayyub, Billu, Mehboob, Naushad, Jinda, Sameer and Somin have been booked under various sections of the IPC.
