A Human trafficking gang that brings girls from Assam to Kerala for prostitution was busted in a combined operation of both Kerala and Assamese police. 9 women and 9 men were arrested from Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala. The operators of this prostitution racket Mussaqul Haq, Rabul Hussain are among the arrested. They will be taken to Assam for further investigation.
Last day, an Assamese police team had reached Thiruvananthapuram and met the city police commissioner to brief him about the human trafficking racket. According to reports, the gang also includes minor girls. They were arrested from hotels near Thiruvananthapuram medical college and Thampanoor police station. These traffickers had brought these girls in the name of construction works.
Assam police had received missing complaints regarding these girls and investigation led them to Kerala.
